About Boost
The aim of the Boost Initiative is to unlock and enhance dormant, inactive and ineffective charitable assets so that they can meet real need in local communities throughout the UK.
The Boost Initiative links trustees with their local community foundation so that they can take advantage of community foundations’ local knowledge and expertise in grant-making.
Community foundations are grant-makers dedicated to strengthening local communities. They connect individuals, organisations and charitable trusts and foundations with local causes.
The Community Foundation Network represents 57 community foundations across the UK. Community foundations are specialists in the management and distribution of funds and aim to build endowment to ensure that they can provide grants to local community projects and organisations in perpetuity.
By working with the Boost Initiative, trustees can deliver effective grant-making whilst ensuring that their assets meet the needs of local communities.
Via the Boost Initiative, community foundations can offer a flexible, cost-effective and trouble-free solution to giving to local communities – without the burden of doing it alone.
